The Ultraman Card Game Debuts on 25 October 2024
Two starter decks—Heroes of Hyper Space and The Bonds of Zero—will drop on launch day in four languages across 23 countries and regions.
After almost six decades, the Ultraman franchise has finally made its TCG debut. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the Ultraman Card Game debuts on 25 October 2024 with two starter decks: Heroes of Hyper Space and The Bonds of Zero.
Unlike most other Japanese TCG franchises, the Ultraman Card Game will debut simultaneously in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese as well as in Japanese. It will be launched across 23 countries and regions.
Both starter decks contain exclusive cards which aren’t available in any booster packs. As such, buyers who purchase a starter deck receive early access to these cards. The decks have also been designed to ensure balanced gameplay.
As far as card illustrations are concerned, the standouts are the connecting cards as well as the Scene cards. Connecting cards are a set of three separate cards which can be put together to form a complete image. Scene cards, as implied by their name, depict an actual scene taken directly from any of the various Ultraman series. The illustrators behind the connecting cards’ illustrations are Hiroshi Maruyama and Masayuki Gotō.
The first Ultraman Card Game booster packs will be sold starting from 8 November 2024. They will have the name “Guardians of the Earth” and include a slew of cards ideal for both gameplay and collection.
