In 2016, Creatures Inc. released the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary [CP6] to commemorate 20 years of the Pokémon TCG. Being a commemorative set, it’s not surprising that eight years later, many of its cards have ended up accumulating serious value. Among those cards is the Super Rare (SR) version of that set’s Mewtwo ex card.

About Mewtwo ex (Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary [CP6] 095/087)

The card’s Full Art illustration depicts the Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon about to unleash its Psyburn attack. The immense energy being generated by the attack that surrounds Mewtwo ex references its truly immense power; the focus of the image, which is a close-up of Mewtwo ex’s left paw, which is glowing with that same energy, adds to the visual impact.

Mewtwo ex is outlined in gold; that same shade of gold makes up the border of the card. This element gives the card an additional layer of prestige and is fitting for a card that honors the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon TCG. There’s also a nostalgia factor in play for long-time Pokémon TCG fans because this card is a Gen 6 retread of one of the Unnumbered Promotional Cards which was launched way back in 1997 during the Pokémon TCG’s first generation.
