Pokémon TCG Terapagos ex/Dusknoir Deck

A new deck has been taking the Pokémon TCG tournament scene by storm—one which even in just the few weeks for which it’s been around has already gone deep in several tournaments. True to what many had been expecting prior to the deck’s tournament debut, the Terapagos ex/Dusknoir deck has already established itself as a bona fide force in the meta and is likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future.

Strategy

The deck’s main attacker is the Terapagos ex card from Stellar Miracle [SV7]. In this deck, Terapagos ex uses just one of its two attacks. Unified Beatdown is the go-to; there’s no need for Crown Opal or its associated Energy cards. Unified Beatdown combines with Stellar Miracle [SV7] Stadium card Area Zero Underdepths which expands the maximum size of the player’s Bench to eight Pokémon when a Terastallized Pokémon is in play; with a full Bench, Unified Beatdown dishes out 220 damage with a single Double Turbo Energy card attached.

Noctowl, a Stellar Miracle [SV7] card which has become a mainstay of so many decks, makes yet another appearance here. The player can use the Normal/Flying-type Pokémon’s Ability of Jewel Seeker to push the tempo, set up early combos, and fill up the Bench in a hurry to get the most out of Area Zero Underdepths and therefore Unified Beatdown.

Capping things off is the Dusknoir card from Night Wanderer [SV6a]. While it has already become part of the meta via its place in the Charizard ex deck, it’s in this deck where it truly shines. Dusknoir primarily serves to pick off anything Terapagos ex can’t KO through Unified Beatdown; it does this via its Ability of Cursed Blast. Dusknoir can also play a key role in the early game by picking up early KO’s to disrupt the opponent’s setup.

Price

The total cost of all the cards in the Terapagos ex/Dusknoir deck is a minimum of 16,560 JPY (~US$113).
