Fresh off the announcement of a Digimon Color release, Monster Hunter, the globally acclaimed video game franchise, has unveiled a collaboration with renowned guitar maker Fender for an exclusive Telecaster model.

This special model is designed with the motif of the iconic monster, Rathalos, the Fire Wyvern, and will be available at authorized Fender dealers worldwide starting in March 2025.

About the Monster Hunter x Fender Rathalos Telecaster

The collaborative guitar will be available in two versions, including a limited Japan flagship store exclusive.

Featuring a range of details inspired by the Monster Hunter universe, such as Rathalos’ icon on the back of the body and the 12th fret inlay, distinctive feather and flame patterns, and the Guild Mark, this guitar is a visual masterpiece.

The original coloring, pickguard material, and all-black hardware create a truly unique instrument. Sound and playability are top-notch, with a satin-finished alder body, a 9.5-inch radius ‘C’ shape maple neck, and high-quality pickups.

The guitar comes with a black hard case featuring an original badge, a numbered neck plate, and a certificate of authenticity.

The Japan exclusive edition features the same base specifications as the standard model.

However, it offers unique details like claw marks from Rathalos cutting through the pickup cover and pickguard, a Rathalos wing pattern engraved on the back of the neck, and glow-in-the-dark body binding, 12th fret inlay, and side dots that glow red in the dark.

The guitar also comes with a special hard case inspired by an item box, decorated with a genuine leather belt, and accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity and a special pick set.

A special design guitar pick and pick case are also set to be released. The picks feature familiar material icons from the game, such as Tail, Wing, and Scale. Of the 12 designs, 3 picks representing rare items in the game—Rathalos Plate, Rathalos Mantle, and Rathalos Ruby—have a luxurious metallic finish on their icons.

The back of each pick features the Fender and Monster Hunter 20th anniversary logos, making them a special, commemorative design. The picks are 346 shape and HEAVY type, making them versatile and easy to use for electric, acoustic and bass guitars.

The pick case, like the hard case, is inspired by the item box from the game, decorated with a belt motif. The leather-like material has a rich texture, with a stamped keyhole and emblem, symbolic of the item box. The back also features embossed logos.

Release Details

At Fender Flagship Tokyo, in-store pre-orders for the Monster Hunter x Fender Rathalos Telecaster guitars will begin on 27 September, 11AM (JST). The regular edition is priced at 330,000 JPY (~US$2,302), while the limited Japan store exclusive edition retails for 495,000 JPY (~US$3,452).

Starting 30 September, both models will be on display at Fender Flagship Tokyo for fans to admire.
