Ja Morant’s 2023 was a rollercoaster. While his first signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 1, launched to fanfare, off-court controversies led to a significant suspension. Despite these challenges, Nike maintained its support, steadily releasing new Ja 1 colorways. As Morant recovered from a shoulder injury, anticipation grew for his next signature shoe.

The Nike Ja 2 is set to debut during Nike’s Holiday 2024 season, marking a new chapter for both Morant and the sneaker world. After a glimpse of the Special Edition version of the Nike Ja 2, we now have our first look at the “Stargazer” edition.

About the Nike Ja 2 “Stargazer”

Inspired by outer space, the Ja 2 “Stargazer” boasts a purple and white color scheme. A departure from its predecessor, the shoe features a molded synthetic upper with wavy patterns and leather overlays. The Swoosh logo has been redesigned, ending before the heel’s “12 AM” branding. Comfort is prioritized with ankle padding, a waterfall collar, and breathable engineered textile.

The midsole, reminiscent of the Nike Kobe 5, incorporates a speckled pattern and exposed foam. An Air Zoom unit in the forefoot complements the full-length foam cushioning. The grippy rubber outsole, featuring tractor tire-inspired traction and a Swoosh-shaped cutout, completes the design.
