ASICS Celebrates 35 Years of the GEL-LYTE 3 OG in “TRICO 2024”
The colorway is designed by Hideyuki Kunii, the creative force behind mita sneakers and Herringbone Footwear.
ASICS kicks off the 35th-anniversary celebration of the GEL-LYTE III with a bold new colorway designed by Hideyuki Kunii, the creative force behind mita sneakers and Herringbone Footwear. This special edition, dubbed “TRICO 2024”, is a striking interpretation of the classic GEL-LYTE 3 OG.
Dominated by a crisp white leather upper, the shoe features contrasting sky blue suede on the toe box. A mesh underlay peeks through the iconic ASICS stripes, adding depth to the design. The tricolor theme is completed with a red heel pull tab.
Unique details elevate this release. A black zipper integrated into the white laces offers a functional and stylish element, while grid-like stitching on the tongue and collar provides textural interest. The insole boasts a diamond wire mesh-inspired pattern, adding another layer of complexity.
The “TRICO 2024” will be available at mita sneakers and select ASICS stores in Japan starting 27 July. A wider release, including online channels for both brands, will follow on 29 July.
