While injuries sidelined Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball for most of the 2023—24 season, he’s been anything but idle. His PUMA collaboration remains a hit, with limited-edition releases fetching high prices on resale platforms. Now, PUMA and Ball are teaming up again for his first-ever lifestyle shoe, the LaMelo Ball x PUMA LaFrance.

Designed to be a neck-breaker, the LaFrance takes inspiration from chunky, trendy Y2K-era skate shoes and adds a luxurious twist for off-court wear. Like the player himself, the shoe is larger than life in an ode to capture his unique style.

Sleek patent leather overlays are paired with breathable mesh, punctuated by bold cut-outs for a striking look. Ball’s signature emblems on the midsole feature inscriptions like “1 of 1”, “Not From Here”, and butterflies inspired by his tattoos, along with the LF logo, to tell Ball’s tale. Extra-wide laces, a padded tongue, and a zig-zag closure complete the audacious look.

The LaMelo Ball x PUMA LaFrance is slated for a 17 May 2024 release. They will be available at PUMA brick-and-click stores for US$120.
