Uniquely Amusing: Jimmy Fallon x MSCHF Gobstomper
Not meant to stay in pristine condition, this pair of sneakers features different heat map-like colors with every wear and tear.
MSCHF is an American art collective based in New York, United States. MSCHF is known for absurd and cynical products that went viral. Their products are meant to poke fun at everything and anything, because MSCHF takes pride in pushing the boundaries. Adding on to their controversial sneakers collection, MSCHF with The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon are pushing out a shoe specially made for skateboarders, the MSCHF Gobstomper.
Taking inspiration from the iconic Gobstopper candy, the Jimmy Fallon x MSCHF Gobstomper gets constructed with multiple colorful layers, bright shades of red, yellow, and blue, that slowly reveal as they become worn down, though the initial top layer comes in gray suede.
This pair of sneakers features a yellow MSCHF branded tongue tag with three exclamation marks in red. The sockliner gets dressed in the same bright yellow as the tongue tag with multicolor insole graphic. Moving to the underfoot, the midsole also gets the multilayered treatment, allowing the shoes gradually shed their outer layer and uncover brighter tones. Rounding everything out is the colorful stripes across the toe tips and a set of white laces.
The release is slated for 28 July. It will retail for US$195 on the MSCHF SNEAKERS (not SNKRS) app.
ICYMI, check out the Nike Air Presto “Tie-Dye” which also features a heat map-like color.
