Following a week of exciting collaborations and innovative reinterpretations, New Balance might just have dropped a playful surprise—the New Balance 1906R “Polka Dot” sample that adds a playful yet sophisticated edge to the iconic 1906R silhouette, reminding us life is meant to be enjoyed, not taken too seriously.
The New Balance 1906R “Polka Dot” boasts a sleek, monochromatic off white color scheme, punctuated with bold black polka dots across its mesh base. This whimsical design is balanced with black branding accents on the heel, midsole, and tongue, while the signature “N” logo and leather overlays maintain an almost-white finish, enhancing the shoe’s overall aesthetic.
This is not the first time the 1906R has turned heads this year. Action Bronson’s upcoming trio, Junya Watanabe MAN’s loafer rendition, and Salehe Bembury’s “Heat Be Hot” pack have already established the silhouette as a canvas for bold expression. The “Polka Dot” sample simply ups the ante with its whimsical charm.
While New Balance has not officially confirmed a release date for this playful design, it is one to keep an eye on if you dare to be a polka dot in a world full of stripes and solids.
Wait for potential updates here, as this distinctive model may hit New Balance and select retailers worldwide later this year, with an expected price tag of US$155.
