[Update 19 Sep 2024] Thanks to new leaks, the SAN SAN GEAR x PUMA Mostro has been ascertained to be available in three colorways—black, grey, and pink. Although not much else is known about them beyond what can be discerned by the images, sources have alluded to a late September release. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days!

Following some recent high-profile appearances on fashion runways around the world, PUMA is bringing back its “Mostro” shoe. This time, it’ll be as part of a collaboration with South Korean fashion brand as the SAN SAN GEAR x PUMA Mostro.

Capitalizing on retro trends—especially those bringing back styles like that of the original Mostro—PUMA has teamed up with SAN SAN GEAR to give the shoe a 2020s update. SAN SAN GEAR’s brand persona is evident in this collaboration; this is made most evident by the placement of the SAN SAN GEAR logo on the upper’s reinforced splicing.

Instead of mesh as was on the original “Mostro”, the SAN SAN GEAR x PUMA Mostro makes use of suede instead. There will be a total of three colorways but their names are yet to be revealed.
