Between Vans’ Sk8-Hi, Old Skool, and Authentic—in addition to their other iconic silhouettes—there exists one more that is arguably the quintessential skate brand’s best-kept-secret: The Carver.

It doesn’t have its time in the sun as much as its more recognizable contemporaries do, but soon enough it’ll feel the warmth of the spotlight. Vans Japan will be reviving, reimagining, and reintroducing the oft-forgotten silhouette.

The Vans Carver will be released in two colorways and two forms, in “Black” and in “Sand” with a mid and low cutting. The Lo will mainly see a suede construction presiding over the familiar waffle outsole. But the taller variation will also include a grained leather option.

Although its highly reminiscent of the Clarks Wallabee, it’s perforated on the sides to form the signature Vans stripe, most prominently seen on the Old Skool.

Pre-sale for the pairs will open on 29 September. Head over to BILLY’S ENT then to find them with a price tag between 12,100 JPY (~US$111) to 13,200 JPY (~US$120).
