Spelman College has a distinguished history as the oldest Black women’s institution in the US. In continuance of their dedication to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Nike reimagines the Nike Terminator High in honor of the institution’s rich heritage.

The titular pair’s construction remains standard with the leather base layer and suede overlays, alongside the perforated toebox, and the mesh tongues and interior. Nevertheless, its greatly elevated through the many beautiful motifs imbued.

Juxtaposed against its Grey backdrop, Bright University Blue address the profile Swooshes, “1881” branding on the forefoot, laces, tongue trim, and “Thy Name We Praise” from the Spelman Hymn on the heel. A nod to their Jaguar mascot, Royal Blue pawprints are introduced on the insoles and crystal rubber outsole.

Rounding out the aesthetic, the laces include the motivational motto “Undaunted By The Fight”, complemented by the school’s insignia on the tongue tab with its underside imprinted with the phrase “A Choice to Change the World”.

There isn’t a firm release date yet but Nike Terminator High “Spelman College” is expected to arrive soon with an RRP of US$125. Stay tuned!
