Yet another Air Force 1 to the collection! As this September’s 40th-anniversary celebration of the Air Force 1 silhouette draws closer, Nike continues to pump out a seemingly impossible number of new designs. While some of these new colourways are wacky novelties, others are traditional tributes to the OG AF1s. Nike’s newest offering, the Air Force 1 Low Blue Patent Leather, sits squarely in the middle of this spectrum.

Based on first looks at this shiny AF1 concoction, there doesn’t appear to be any changes to the silhouette design – the perforated upper, thick midsole and iconic Swoosh are all present as per normal. Instead, the distinguishing feature is the inclusion of glossy Patent Leather that replaces the typical brushed leather on the Swoosh, rear section of the upper and heel.

Two colours provide a contrasting effect on this Patent Leather: dark blue adorns the Swoosh, while sky blue makes up the rear section and heel. Another interesting feature to note is the dark blue 3D-embroidered “Nike Air” branding on the heel tab, adding extra depth to the sneaker. Overall, the shiny surface in combination with the sky and dark blue colours give off strong clear-day-by-the-sea vibes, making it perfect for Nike’s collection of Summer 2022 releases.

Not much official information about the Nike Air Force 1 Low Blue Patent Leather is currently available, but concrete release dates are expected to surface this summer, so stay tuned for more details!
