The New Balance 1906R Gets a Striking Neon Look
Is this what a glow-up looks like?
The New Balance 1906R, now a permanent fixture in every NB–head’s rotation, has surfaced with a bold new look. Nicknamed the New Balance 1906R “Hi-Lite” by Up To Date, the lifestyle model is indeed covered head-to-toe in said “Hi-Lite” neon yellow.
Atop the 1906R’s instantly-recognizable silhouette which consists of a leather and mesh construction, neon yellow first makes its appearance on the mesh that forms almost the entire upper of the shoe. The leather overlays comes in brushed silver, giving a tinge of Y2K nostalgia.
Although the sole, TPU heel counter, and “N” lock system, together with the laces, are colored in full black, pops of neon managed to make their way on to the Abzorb midsole. Peep inside the insoles, and you’ll find the liners drenched in more “Hi-Lite” hues.
The New Balance 1906R “Hi-Lite” is priced at US$150 and is expected to drop anytime now. Stay tuned for more updates.
