If it’s the first you’re hearing of R.A.D®, it’s understandable… but it’s about time. Started in early 2022, they’ve since made a name in the CrossFit space with their performance footwear; said footwear made in Portland, Oregon.

They recently debuted their first runner, simply called the “R-1” and consensus has been positive. Much like their other offerings, the shoes are heavily imbued with proprietary technology such as the SwellFoam N2™, their supercritical foam midsole technology, partly made from sugar cane.

The production is in line with the company’s environmentally-conscious ethos. The signature foam uses a 50/50 cane/fossil composition, which means “it captures carbon from the atmosphere as it grows and reduces (their) reliance on traditional, fossil-based materials in production.”

The pairs are available now in four colorways on R.A.D®’s website with a price tag of US$170.
