The original 998, introduced in 1993, was the first to be imbedded with New Balance’s hallmark ABZORB cushioning. The groundbreaking innovation seamlessly merges with the contemporary aesthetic of the beloved 99X series. Now it returns bearing the flag of NB’s MADE in USA division.

Black, Grey, Silver, and White dress the suede and leather construction of the pair, in addition to its textile and other synthetic materials. For its technical highlight comes the aforementioned ABZORB technology, providing the familiar comfort NB has been known for. Moreover, stability is covered thanks to the polyurethane mold at the heel; culminating in the EVA foam underfoot.

There isn’t a firm release date yet but they’re expected to be availed on New Balance’s brick-and-click stores within the coming months for US$210. Stay tuned for more details!
