First Look: Nike Zoom Freak 5 “Oreo”
A nod to its namesake's favorite snack.
It might sound bizarre to most people but Giannis Antetokounmpo never tried Oreos until he was already an NBA player in Milwaukee. It was just beyond his family’s means at the time in Greece. Now, not only does he always have one in hand all the time, considering it’s become his favorite snack, he also has a signature shoe with Nike dedicated to it.
His passion for the snack is manifested on his Zoom Freak 5’s “Oreo” colorway. The textured knit upper, midsole, and heel tab all work together to invoke the cookie’s aesthetic—fluffy white center, while the tongue structure and jet-black leather overlays portray an opposing pitch-black hue.
Underfoot, the outsole feature a marbled appearance, while the lower half of the oversized Swooshes bear speckled patterns, complemented by the silver metallic finish of its top half.
Not much is known about the pair right now but more details should surface within the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, check out the Nike Air Pegasus 89 “Sport Blue”.
