[Update 26 May 2023] Following its initial run of pre-orders, a general release for the New Balance for UNITED ARROWS 990v3 UASP “Charcoal” is slated to take place on 2 June 11am JST via the Japanese retailer. The New Balance 990v3 is a running shoe that was released in 2012, as the third iteration of the 990 series. Known for its high quality and durability, it’s since transcended its performance footwear pedigree and has been embraced in the lifestyle space by even the most ardent of fans and most casual of enthusiasts.

This “Charcoal” colorway in collaboration with UNITED ARROWS retains most of its hallmarks. The pigskin suede and mesh upper; the dual-density foam collar; and the blown rubber outsole. Additionally, it also has integrated the signature ENCAP midsole technology. For a more refined look, the titular “Charcoal” grey dresses the suede and mesh layers, complemented by the black laces.

As a highlight, the footbed features a picture of the clock tower at the New Balance factory in Lawrence, Massachusetts; in addition to the leather heel tab panel with “Made in USA” imprinted.

The pair is available now for pre-order at UNITED ARROWS’ website and is scheduled for delivery sometime in June. Orders will go for JPY35,200 (~US$260).
