Celebrating LA’s Baseball Culture with the Kobe 5

Nike is set to release a fresh new colorway for the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s signature lineup. Built upon the Kobe 5 Protro silhouette—which originally debuted back in 2009—this upcoming pair carries forward the proud design lineage established by the Kobe 6 Protro “Dodgers” that released in 2025. Bridging hardwood legacy with LA’s iconic baseball culture, this pair is set to arrive on 15th August 2026.

About Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Dodgers”

The upper features a bold Dodgers blue paired with white and grey Swoosh accents. Red baseball stitching details the heel, while Kobe’s signature numbers “8” and “24” line the back of the tongue alongside his signature on the heel.

Performance-wise, a forefoot Zoom Air unit and lightweight Flywire upper combine responsive cushioning with secure lockdown. This release is expected to be a must-cop for both sneakerheads and basketball fans.
