A Fusion of Contemporary Mastery and Distressed Streetwear Aesthetics

The long-awaited collaborative project “mononoke・made,” a joint venture between the world-renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and Yuta Hosokawa—the mastermind behind READYMADE, the Japanese label famous for its high-end upcycled military aesthetic—officially launched on 4th April 2026(JST).
After two years in development, this collection fused Murakami’s iconic visual language with a rugged, street-informed sensibility, treating each garment as a “one-of-a-kind art piece.”

The drop was headlined by a luxury varsity jacket priced at over ¥1,500,000($9,400USD), featuring intricate graphics of cherry blossoms and skulls. Utilizing premium materials and Hosokawa’s signature artisanal distressing, the lineup also showcased Murakami’s “Flowers” and unreleased artwork across bold prints of the Blue Dragon and White Tiger. From high-end outerwear to more accessible T-shirts, hoodies, and belts, the collection elevated standard streetwear into collectible artifacts, merging extreme rarity with genuine artistic pedigree.
