J-Pop Icon, YOASOBI and Asics Unveil a Story-Driven Tech Capsule

YOASOBI, the J-pop duo renowned for turning novels into music, is teaming up with Asics on a new collection that brings their artistic world to life. Based on the concept “JUST A LITTLE STEP”—the English title of their track Mousukoshi Dake—the project was developed alongside members Ayase and Lilas Ikuta as known as IKURA to blend high-performance tech with their signature storytelling.

About YOASOBI x Asics Gel-Kinetic Fluent Y

The featured sneaker, the Gel-Kinetic Fluent Y, merges a high-performance Scutoid GEL midsole with the classic upper design of the Gel-Kayano 14 for superior cushioning. Signature details include a “Y” engraving on the toe and a unique heel tag inspired by a bookmark, alongside tubular components featuring hidden messages. The drop arrives in three digital-inspired colorways: “Black”, “Piedmont Grey/Pure Silver ” and “Midnight/Dragon Fruit” that mirrors the duo’s cyber-pop aesthetic.
The full collection, which includes a range of recycled-material apparel, is set to release on 19th March 2026(JST).
