Tokyo’s CHALLENGER — founded in 2009 by ex-pro skater Satoru Taguchi and driven by an “American Garage” ethos—reunites with New Balance Numeric, the skateboarding division of the iconic Boston brand, for their third collaborative drop.

The outcome? The 440v2 “Off White” — a meticulous reimagining of their earlier 440 design.

For this round, the upgraded v2 silhouette is swept in a clean off-white upper, its simplicity underscored by carefully engineered details: a collaboration-exclusive tongue label, a bone-clear outsole that adds a crystalline edge, and custom graphic insoles that carry CHALLENGER’s signature visual storytelling. Even the shoebox gets the special touch—proof that the partnership thrives in the details.

Mark your calendar: the sneakers land 15 August, with an exclusive debut at the CHALLENGER Shibuya flagship store. A day later, on 16 August, they’ll roll out to select stockists. Retail price is set at 15,950 JPY (~US$109).
