Pokémon TCG Chi-Yu Master Ball Mirror

Recently-emerged variants of the Charizard ex and Dragapult ex decks include the Chi-Yu card originally from Ancient Roar [SV4K] which would subsequently be reprinted in Terastal Festival ex [SV8a]. This card gives the decks strong matchups against several key decks in the current Pokémon TCG metagame.

About Chi-Yu Master Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 025/187)

Chi-Yu’s most important attack is Megafire of Envy. For two Fire Energy cards, Chi-Yu is able to dish out 140 damage if one of the player’s Pokémon has just been KO’d by an opposing attack. With the help of the x2 weakness multiplier, Megafire of Envy can thus one-shot major opposing threats such as Gholdengo ex from Raging Surf [SV3a] and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex from Mask of Change [SV6].

For collectors, the version of this card which would hold the most appeal would be the Master Ball Mirror reprint from Terastal Festival ex [SV8a]. This is because that reprint comes in a rarer reverse holofoil version featuring Master Ball prints across its bottom half—hence the name “Master Ball Mirror”.

Release Details

The English version of this card is card 057 from the SVP Black Star Promos; however, that card doesn’t have a Master Ball Mirror version.

A copy of a Chi-Yu Master Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 025/187) card doesn’t cost all that much, selling for just 580 JPY (~US$3.93).
