On 28 July 2025, The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) soft-launched the Play! Pokémon Access app in Europe and Australia. It will be made available to other TPCi regions, i.e. the rest of the world excluding Asia-Pacific (Japan included), on 4 August.

Play! Pokémon Access is targeted at Pokémon TCG players and enables them to search for local events, receive notifications when one of those locations is hosting an event, check into an event with a QR code, and keep track of their tournament records. It will also be possible to earn in-app badges by participating in those events.

Collectors, meanwhile, can use Play! Pokémon Access to search for card images by using specific criteria as well as catalogue their card collections.

The app doesn’t just cater to the TCG; Pokémon Video Game Championships (VGC) players will be able to manage all their own tournament-related matters via the app as well.
