adidas Originals takes a thrilling leap into the future of lifestyle footwear with the introduction of a new silhouette—the Adizero Goukana.

Inspired by the legendary 2008 Adios Neftenga—a prototype running shoe recently revived in the 2024 Wales Bonner collaboration—the Goukana reinterprets iconic elements like the distinctive lenticular striping for today’s fashion-forward crowd.

A Luxurious Name with a Storied Legacy

Named “Goukana,” meaning “luxurious and plush” in Japanese, the shoe honors the franchise’s Japanese roots and designer Toshiaki Omori, the creative force behind the original Adizero line. Though tailored for lifestyle, it features adidas’ advanced Lightstrike cushioning technology—used in elite marathon and basketball shoes—offering exceptional comfort and performance.

Designed by adidas’ LA creative team, the Goukana sports a bulbous sole crafted for modern baggy fits, a premium upper blending suede, mesh, and reflective silver synthetics, and a vibrant yellow inspired by both the Neftenga and racing culture.

Celebrating LA’s diverse culture, adidas partners with Motoring While Black and Fabrica de Rosas to bring the city’s spirit to life in the launch campaign.

Release Details

The adidas Adizero Goukana makes its debut on 1 August 2025, and will be available exclusively at adidas.com.sg/originals-los_angeles and through the CONFIRMED app.
