The adidas Originals “Panda” Collection Draws Deep From Chinese Culture
Featuring large, stripe-adorned panda figures outside adidas' flagship store in Chengdu.
adidas has launched a special collection celebrating the beloved panda, created in collaboration with Hong Kong artist Dorophy Tang. While the adidas Originals “Panda” collection doesn’t include specific new sneaker designs, its prominent black and white color scheme perfectly complements adidas’ signature pieces like the Samba and classic tracksuits.
About the adidas Originals “Panda” Collection
The panda holds deep cultural and political significance in China, recognized as a national symbol. Historically, pandas were extended as diplomatic gifts to other nations, and today, China leases them for ecotourism.

To mark the adidas Originals “Panda” collection’s release, adidas Originals China went all out, featuring large, stripe-adorned panda figures outside its flagship store in Chengdu. The collection offers a range of t-shirts and accessories showcasing Tang’s illustrations, designed with a nod to the style of Polo Ralph Lauren’s iconic tees.
