Mizuno WAVE PROPHECY LS “Monotone Cinema” [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Emulating deep contrasts of 1960s French cinema, echoing the era’s affinity for black-and-white visuals and the dramatic tension of film noir.
Mizuno’s latest release invites ÉDIFICE, IÉNA, and Herringbone Footwear to present the Wave Prophecy LS “Monotone Cinema”—a shoe characterized by both cinematic influence and technical precision.
About the Mizuno WAVE PROPHECY LS “Monotone Cinema”

The collaboration reinterprets the Wave Prophecy LS silhouette in a grayscale palette inspired by the deep contrasts of ’60s French cinema, echoing the era’s affinity for black-and-white visuals and the dramatic tension of film noir.

Material choices are equally deliberate: the upper features deep black synthetic fibers and faux leather, creating layered ripples highlighted by silver-tone overlays, while branding is kept minimal. Inside, pavement-inspired graphics are integrated into the insole—a subtle nod to city streets and hidden narratives below the surface.

Despite its aesthetics, the “Monotone Cinema” nevertheless stays true to the performance pedigree of the Wave Prophecy line. Mizuno’s Infinity Wave technology serves as the structural core, utilizing a hollow, lightweight chassis in place of conventional foam; while a sculpted rubber outsole with targeted pods enhances traction and stability for everyday use.
