Although the ANTA KAI 2 is at the vanguard of the Kyrie Irving x ANTA partnership, attention is returning to his foundational model with the release of a new colorway: the ANTA Kai 1 Chief Hélà “Crown Jewel”.

About the ANTA KAI 1 Chief Hélà “Crown Jewel”

First unveiled by WNBA All-Star Brittney Sykes during the All-Star Game, the Chief Hélà “Crown Jewel” remains steeped in the narrative and visual language that has defined the KAI 1.

Building on the original’s Native American-inspired details, the latest iteration is dominated by midnight purple—a hue drawn from ceremonial amethyst beads traditionally worn by tribal chiefs, symbolizing power, identity, and spirituality.

Tassels along the collar channel the traditional moccasin design, tying the performance shoe to Indigenous craftsmanship and heritage. Light gold accents provide contrast, highlighting the symbolic motifs on the midfoot, the custom Kyrie Irving text across the lockdown strap, and his signature logo on the tongue.

Moving inside, a full-length Nitro Edge foam provides the underfoot comfort embedded within the purple rubber and foam midsoles. Rounding out the package is a semi-translucent gum rubber outsole.

Release Details

The ANTA KAI 1 Chief Hélà “Crown Jewel” is set to arrive on 2 August with an RRP of US$125. Expect a widespread launch through ANTA and key partners, including Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Scheels, Hibbett, Shoe Palace, Sneaker Politics, Extra Butter, Nice Kicks, Social Status, Feature, and Lapstone & Hammer.
