At first glance, the Orlumbus card from Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] has an effect which appears to have a severe drawback. However, by playing this card in tandem with one specific other card, the player can reap all the benefits of the card’s effect without suffering any negative consequences.

About Orlumbus (Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] OP04-079)

Once per turn, Orlumbus enables the player to reduce an opposing Character card’s cost by 4; following this, the player must trash two cards from the top of the deck before KO’ing one of the player’s own Dressrosa-type Character cards.

The idea is to inflict what would ordinarily be a KO on the Kyros card from Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04]. This is because if that card were to be KO’d in any way, the player could then spare it by resting the deck’s Leader card or, if applicable, the Corrida Coliseum card—another Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] card. In this way, the player benefits from Orlumbus’ cost-reducing capability without having to KO any of the player’s own Character cards.

This card almost entirely appeals to players, as with a rarity of Common (C), and featuring one of the more obscure One Piece characters, there’s not really all that much that would excite most collectors.

This card’s English version has already been released.

A copy of an Orlumbus (Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] OP04-079) card costs very little, selling for just 20 JPY (~US$0.13).
