The first official Weiß Schwarz expansion set based on newly-viral mobile game Uma Musume Pretty Derby was released in June 2023. However, the new spotlight that the game has received following its recent international launch means that it could very well be primed for a spike in popularity like it’s never seen before.

About Uma Musume Pretty Derby

The Uma Musume Pretty Derby set contains a total of 155 cards; the basic versions of these 155 cards have the following rarity breakdown:

• 14 Double Rares (RR)
• 36 Rares (R)
• 43 Uncommons (U)
• 17 Climax Commons (CC)
• 45 Commons (C)

In addition, all 155 cards have a rarer version. 70 cards can come in Special (SP), 23 in Over Frame Rare (OFR), 17 in Triple Rare (RRR), and 45 in Super Rare (SR).

Uma Musume Pretty Derby booster boxes and cartons also come with a foil-stamped autographed card bearing the signature of one of the voice actors from the Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime series. In addition, boxes and cartons from the first print run also came with one of two promotional cards—though with later print runs, such would no longer be the case.

Following the immense global popularity of the mobile game after its recent launch, a new burst of demand for this item might be approaching.

Release Details

The Uma Musume Pretty Derby expansion set was only released in Japanese.

A 9-card Uma Musume Pretty Derby booster pack costs 440 JPY (~US$3). It’s also possible to buy a 16-pack box or an 18-box carton.
