[Pokémon TCG] Costco Begins Testing of Queue System for Online Pokémon TCG Purchases
If the queue system is implemented, Costco would join several other major retailers in implementing anti-scalper measures.
Costco recently began testing a queue system for all Pokémon TCG purchases from its online store. The queue system would be based on the ones used on the Japanese and international Pokémon Center websites.
If implemented, this queue system would make Costco the latest of many major retailers to put anti-scalping measures in place. With the queue system in place, scalpers would be less able to use bots to purchase excessive quantities of Pokémon TCG products.
Although Costco did not release any statement about the testing of the queue system, it was likely commenced due to a recent surge in demand for Pokémon TCG products on its online store. In addition, it isn’t yet known if the queue system is intended to be for all Pokémon TCG or just selected high-demand ones.
