It’s not often the case that one of a Pokémon TCG deck’s most important cards is a Pokémon Tool card. However, this is the case with the Cynthia’s Garchomp ex deck as when attached to the deck’s titular Pokémon, Cynthia’s Power Weight can turn that Pokémon into a truly overwhelming force.

About Cynthia’s Garchomp ex (Heat Wave Arena [SV9a] 087/063)

Although Cynthia’s Power Weight can be attached to any Cynthia’s Pokémon in the deck, the ideal scenario is for it to be attached to the Cynthia’s Garchomp ex card from Heat Wave Arena [SV9a]. The additional 70 HP with which Cynthia’s Power Weight provides the Pokémon to which it’s attached brings Cynthia’s Garchomp ex’s HP to 400. When this is combined with its Draconic Buster which can dish out more than 300 damage in a single hit for just two Fighting Energy cards, Cynthia’s Power Weight thus turns Cynthia’s Garchomp ex into an almost unstoppable force.

Cynthia’s Garchomp ex decks typically include multiple copies of Cynthia’s Power Weight. In this way, other Cynthia’s Pokémon in the deck also receive the 70 HP increase and thus have greater survivability.

This Uncommon (U) card is almost entirely sought out by players as from a collectability standpoint, there isn’t really anything noteworthy or remarkable about it. That said, those well-versed with the Pokémon video games might be intrigued by the card’s effect as in the video games, Power Weight is an item which increases the number of HP effort values (EVs) obtained by the Pokémon holding it.
