SNKRDUNK Interviews TCG Content Creator and Collector Timothy “Goatbreakers” Flick on the Backstory Behind His Collection And Beyond
Interestingly, the highlight of his collection features a Pokémon which most prefer the evolution of.
Timothy “Goatbreakers” Flick is a Kansas City-based TCG content creator and collector. In addition to having built his enormous collection since childhood, he also has a thriving presence on social media with growing followings on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
We spoke to him to get the full story behind it all and more—including a pick that might end up surprising some.
Could you introduce yourself?

My name is Tim!
How did you get into TCG collection?
I started collecting cards as far back as I can remember. Sports cards and Pokémon cards were my biggest hobbies growing up. I still have thousands of cards from my childhood.
What is it about TCG collection that keeps you coming back for more?
The hobby is something that will always be a part of my life, regardless of the state of the market. I’ve made some of my closest friends through this hobby, whether it’s content creation or events like Collect-A-Con.
Can you speak about your experiences with TCG products on the SNKRDUNK app?
It’s very easy to find what I want, and I love the price charting data, so I know how to find a fair price.
What would you regard as the primary advantages of purchasing TCG products via an online store such as that of the SNKRDUNK app?
Transparency of price is vital in a volatile industry; it’s easy to get taken advantage of, and this helps me know I’m getting the best deal.
In your time as a TCG collector, what has been your greatest experience?
The best experience has been connecting with others who genuinely love the hobby and discovering that every collection is unique.
Do you have any favorite cards that you either own or are pursuing? If yes, which ones?

The Dark Charmeleon from Team Rocket was the first card that made me want to collect. Growing up, I was always fascinated by art, and that card specifically opened up the world of collecting to me versus just playing and trading.

I recently completed a PSA 1-10 set of the first edition Dark Charmeleon, and my goal is to have a PSA 10 of every Charmeleon card.
Which Pokémon TCG sets do you rate most highly?

I’d go with the Team Rocket and Neo sets because that’s what I grew up on. Nostalgia bias wins it for me.
On your Instagram page, we saw that you collect ONE PIECE Card Game cards too. What’s your take on BANDAI’s decision to start releasing sets simultaneously around the world starting from next year?
Personally, I care more about accessibility and the longevity of the hobby rather than the immediate value. In the long term, it feels like a good thing for both players and collectors.
Can you talk to us about your experiences at Collect-a-Con?
Collect-a-Con has been one of the most impactful experiences of my life. From developing lifelong friendships to expanding my content into the film, anime, and TV space, this event has become incredibly influential for me and so many others, whether they’re collectors, players, or content creators.
And how about your content creation journey? How did that start, and what keeps it going today?
Back in 2019, I was burnt out and overworked in my current job and needed a way to find more joy in my life. So, I decided to go back to what I loved as a kid. I went viral mispronouncing a Pokémon name and used my corporate skills to understand how to be successful in content creation.
What keeps it going is the community that has stayed with me and enjoyed my content even as I’ve expanded into film and TV. People keep coming back to hear what I have to say, which still blows my mind every time I post a video.
Now, let’s bring together two of the main topics from your Instagram page. We noticed that you’ve made lots of movie-related posts. With that in mind, what’s your favorite Pokémon movie ever and why?

Pokémon: The First Movie will always be a classic, and it’s my favorite because it’s what I loved as a kid. And yes, I cried at the end.
Can we have a final message for your social media followers?
I’m dumbfounded that anyone cares what I have to say, and I’m beyond grateful that this is what I get to do. Anyone who engages with one of my videos means more to me than they will ever know. If no one cared about my content, I wouldn’t get to do what I love for a living.
