When it debuted back in Gen 5, Keldeo was a rather controversial addition which generated many haters in addition to fans. That being said, over time the Mythical Pokémon slowly but surely won over more fans—and more recently, the Special Art Rare (SAR) card from White Flare [SV11W] has emerged as one of its set’s leading pulls.

About Keldeo ex (White Flare [SV11W] 169/086)

The card’s Full Art illustration contains an obvious reference to The Crown Tundra, the second DLC of eighth-generation Pokémon video games Pokémon Sword and Shield. The imagery depicts the Water/Fighting-type Pokémon standing under a tree near a lake, alluding to Ballimere Lake where the player encounters Keldeo in the DLC. This is a detail which is sure to impress those well-versed with the in-universe lore.

Since this card comes in the rarity of SAR, it’s likely to be one which will be sought out by many collectors. There’s an added level of interest as well for certain collectors because Keldeo is the fourth member of the Swords of Justice. This card can thus be placed alongside the Cobalion card from Black Bolt [SV11B] and the Virizion and Terrakion cards from White Flare [SV11W] to complete the quartet.

This card’s English launch will be on 18 July 2025 as part of White Flare [WHT].
