The sportswear brand launched a special-edition New Balance 2002R “FC Porto” sneaker and a themed coffee shop in New York City.

While special-edition football club footwear is not a new concept, with collaborations seen from adidas and PUMA with clubs like Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, this venture marks a significant moment for New Balance, especially with the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

About the New Balance 2002R “FC Porto”

The FC Porto connection on the New Balance 2002R is subtle. The sneaker features a blend of mesh, suede, and leather in blue, white, brown, and yellow tones. Its sole unit, borrowed from the New Balance 860v2, maintains this color scheme and offers the signature comfort it has provided since 2011. However, the insole prominently displays FC Porto’s colorful logo, unequivocally confirming the collaboration.

The New Balance 2002R “FC Porto” is anticipated to be released on NewBalance.com by early Fall, with an RRP of US$145.
