Japanese MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani has revealed a unique collaboration that combines his beloved pet dog, Decoy, with the renowned Japanese manga and trading card game, Yu-Gi-Oh!. This special, one-of-a-kind card was unveiled through Ohtani’s Instagram, where he shared a video opening a mysterious black box from KONAMI, the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Inside the box was a beautifully illustrated card featuring Decoy wearing an LA Dodgers uniform—the same outfit the dog wore during the ceremonial first pitch at the 28 August 2024 game against the Baltimore Orioles. The card’s stats are modest, with both attack and defense set at 50, but the description tells a captivating story:

“A divine angel who descended upon the sacred mound. Performing a special ritual called Shikyuushiki alongside his partner, he enchants people with his elegant fur and adorable appearance. The ritual concludes with a high-five. The showtime with his partner continues onward—.”

This card was specially made for Ohtani and is unlikely to see a commercial release, making it a rare collector’s item and a heartfelt tribute to the bond between the baseball star and his canine companion.
