Though not the most iconic of the many Lillie reprints throughout the Pokémon TCG’s seventh generation—that would, of course, be the Extra Battle Day Lillie card—the promotional card from the Lillie & Cosmog Special Box has recently experienced a spike in demand and thus its value.

About Lillie (SM-P Promotional Cards 080/SM-P)

This card was initially only made available by way of the Lillie & Cosmog Special Box released in June 2017. Its illustration features Lillie reading on a couch with Nebby, her Cosmog, beside her. This card is actually half of a pair; in the same Special Box there was also a promotional Cosmog card; the Cosmog on that card is implied to be Nebby.

In addition to the fact that Lillie is among the most popular female characters of the entire Pokémon franchise as well as this card’s status as a product-exclusive promo, there’s an additional factor which might serve to draw interest: the fact that Nebby and Lillie’s bag are in the same frame—perhaps a reference to a meme which became viral among the Pokémon fanbase in the early Gen 7 days.

Following its recent price spike, a copy of a Lillie (SM-P Promotional Cards 080/SM-P) card sells for 160,000 JPY (~US$1,099).
