PUMA and Salehe Bembury are set to make a mark at Paris Fashion Week with the debut of the Velum Nitro. Building on last year’s announcement of the designer’s collaboration with the German legacy brand (a relationship that has already produced Tyrese Haliburton’s PUMA Hali 1, his first signature basketball shoe), this latest release sees Bembury shift his focus to performance running, infusing the division with his unique design sensibilities.

About the Salehe Bembury x PUMA Velum Nitro “Orange”

The PUMA Velum Nitro stands out for both its technical and aesthetic details. Its name, “Velum,” references a membrane-like structure, a concept that is realized through the shoe’s fused overlay, which envelops an engineered mesh base.

The Formstrip on the quarter features a fingerprint-inspired motif, a nod to Bembury’s recurring design language, while Velum branding appears prominently on the tongue alongside PUMA’s logo. Underfoot, the midsole, inspired by the membrane concept, incorporates Nitro Foam cushioning for enhanced comfort and responsiveness.

The launch event itself is designed as an immersive experience, with the Velum showcased as a centerpiece in a space that echoes the sneaker’s organic textures and futuristic themes. The installation invites visitors to explore the evolution of the Velum from concept to finished product, blurring the lines between nature and technology.

Release Details

The Salehe Bembury x PUMA Velum Nitro “Orange” will see an exclusive pre-release on 25 June 2025, at a pop-up located at 18 Rue Saint Gilles in Paris.

Only 100 pairs will be available at launch, with Bembury present for a meet-and-greet. The pop-up will remain open to the public through 27 June, offering fans a first-hand look at both the sneaker and the creative process behind it.
