At first glance, Machamp might not seem to be the sort of Pokémon which appears to be an obvious chase card candidate. Despite this, the Super Rare (SR) Machamp V card from eighth-generation Pokémon TCG set Time Gazer [S10D] has indeed emerged as the set’s leading pickup. There are several major reasons as to why this is so.

About Machamp V (Time Gazer [S10D] 073/067)

The card’s Full Art illustration makes up the bulk of this card’s appeal by depicting Machamp V in a way that’s rarely seen throughout the Pokémon franchise. The Fighting-type Pokémon is shown in a street market, using its four massive arms to carry products for the vendors. Machamp V is also assisted by a Trapinch carrying a full basket on its back. Many cards depicting day-to-day life with Pokémon often experience price elevations due to their blending of realism and fantasy; this card is one such card.

Additional details found in Shinya Komatsu’s illustration include a basket of Sitrus Berries on a table visible in the bottom-left corner as well as a Maractus assisting an off-screen vendor towards the right side of the image. This is one of two SR versions of Machamp V in Time Gazer [S10D] and by far the more valuable of the two.
