Although Grimmsnarl is a Pokémon more known for its utility in the video games, it has now begun to make an impact on the Pokémon TCG metagame. One of the two titular cards from ex Starter Set Marnie’s Morpeko & Grimmsnarl ex [SVOM], Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex has now become the latest card to emerge as the centerpiece of a meta-relevant deck.

About Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex (ex Starter Set Marnie’s Morpeko & Grimmsnarl ex [SVOM] 007/019)

Shadow Bullet, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex’s only attack, is a perfect fit within the deck’s spread damage strategy as it dishes out 30 damage to a Benched Pokémon in addition to the 180 damage it lands on the opposing Active Pokémon. The card also powers itself up via Punk Up, its Ability. That Ability enables the player to attach up to 5 Dark Energy cards to any of the player’s Marnie’s Pokémon in play—including Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex itself.

For collectors, much of the card’s appeal lies in the fact that the card features a Pokémon that belongs to Marnie—one of the most popular characters of the entire Pokémon franchise. That being said, the card doesn’t have an illustration with Marnie herself on it; as such, this card’s value doesn’t reach the heights that it otherwise could have.

The English version of this card is card 136/182 from Destined Rivals [DRI].

The sale price of a Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex (ex Starter Set Marnie’s Morpeko & Grimmsnarl ex [SVOM] 007/019) is relatively low at just 710 JPY (~US$5).
