Following the release of Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W], many Pokémon TCG players had questions about the possible tournament eligibility of the Eelektrik card from Gen 5 set Red Collection [BW2]. This is because that card was reprinted as part of Black Bolt [SV11B].

Historically, all cards which have received a direct reprint are permitted to have their older versions used in tournament play. However, this time around Creatures Inc. confirmed that the Red Collection [BW2] version of the Eelektrik card would be ineligible for tournament play; only the reprint from Black Bolt [SV11B] could be used in tournament decks.

This was a decision which a large number of players disagreed with because of how reprints of cards have usually been treated. Many noted the inconsistency between past rulings and this current one.
