In newly-released Pokémon TCG dual set Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W], every card depicting a Pokémon would have a version in the rarity of Art Rare (AR) or rarer. One of those cards in the AR rarity was Gen 5 Grass-type starter Pokémon Snivy; this card was part of Black Bolt [SV11B].

About Snivy (Black Bolt [SV11B] 087/086)

The card’s Full Art illustration depicts the Grass Snake Pokémon standing in a lush forest full of greenery—apt for a Grass-type Pokémon. The art style used by illustrator Yoshimi Miyoshi might also be an allusion to the Dream World, an online feature from the fifth-generation video games Pokémon Black and White. The graphics in the Dream World carried several similarities to the art style of this card’s illustration.

Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W] make up a dual set specifically designed to appeal to childhood nostalgia among those who grew up with Gen 5—and there are no better Pokémon to tap into that feeling than starters as many would’ve had Snivy or one of the other two starters as the first Pokémon they ever had in a video game.

Release Details

This card will be released in English on 18 July 2025 as part of White Flare [BLK].

The sale price of a Snivy (Black Bolt [SV11B] 087/086) card is 2,150 JPY (~US$15).
