The Swoosh brand is set to introduce the Nike Cryoshot, a new shoe that merges soccer boot design with street style.

About the Nike Cryoshot

One iteration of the Cryoshot draws inspiration from Ronaldo’s iconic 1998 Mercurial R9 cleats, featuring the classic grey, blue, and yellow color scheme reminiscent of World Cup history. This version is re-imagined for everyday wear, notable for its cleat-like studs enclosed within a translucent midsole, creating a distinctive “frozen in time” aesthetic.

A second Cryoshot model pays homage to the Tiempo Legend 10R worn by Ronaldinho in 2005. This design showcases a white and metallic gold colorway, referencing the celebrated “Touch of Gold” advertisement. It represents a contemporary reinterpretation of a legendary boot, blending football heritage with streetwear sensibilities.

The “cleats as sneakers” trend appears to be gaining momentum, with Nike’s Cryoshot release following adidas’s recent F50 Adiframe unveiling. 

Release Details

The Nike Cryoshot is anticipated to be available in Summer 2025 on Nike.com and at select retailers. Pricing details remain scant for now, so stay tuned to SNKRDUNK Magazine when it becomes available.
