The Roronoa Zoro card from newly-released ONE PIECE Card Game set Legacy of the Master [OP-12] comes with a significant amount of narrative depth. This is largely due to the card’s Parallel Art illustration.

About Roronoa Zoro (Legacy of the Master [OP-12] OP12-020)

The most obvious thing to note about this card’s illustration is the fact that in the background, the image of Dracule Mihawk can be seen. In the One Piece manga, Mihawk is regarded as the world’s greatest swordsman and is the benchmark which Zoro seeks to eventually surpass.

The card’s artwork further adds to its appeal. It’s a Parallel Art illustration depicting Zoro attacking with one of his Three Sword Style techniques; this pairs well with the illustration because Zoro himself created Three Sword Style; therefore, it’s likely to be the means by which Zoro would indeed surpass Mihawk once the manga comes to its climax. Furthermore, since Zoro is the deuteragonist of the One Piece manga, many cards that depict him see their value elevated.

This card will be released internationally with the rest of Legacy of the Master [OP-12] in August 2025.
