In the One Piece manga, Gum-Gum Red Roc is one of Monkey D. Luffy’s most well-known techniques; he gains access to it in his Gear 3 form. The ONE PIECE Card Game card which depicts it, originally from Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04], has also been a frequent pick in many blue decks—primarily the Blue Doflamingo deck; it’s also seen use as part of the Blue/Purple Reiju, Blue/Purple Luffy, and Blue Hancock decks.

About Gum-Gum Red Roc (Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] OP04-056)

Gum-Gum Red Roc is mainly played to disrupt the opponent’s board presence by forcing the opponent to place a Character card at the bottom of the deck. As such, this card can be used to get dangerous opposing Character cards off the field. In addition, its Trigger effect is similar; however, its Trigger effect only applies to opposing Character cards with costs of 4 or less.

The card’s most coveted reprinted version comes in the rarity of Rare Parallel (R-P); it has a Parallel Art illustration unleashing the card’s titular attack with fearsome impact. The sheer power of Luffy’s Gum-Gum Red Roc attack is clearly captured by the striking illustration—something that’s clearly seen in the energy waves being generated by it.
