New Balance’s 2025 “Grey Days” collection just dropped, an annual affair that’s cemented the Boston-based brand as a dad shoe staple. But when they step outside that comfort zone, it’s always worth noting. We saw it with the “Neon Nights” collection earlier this year, and now, the New Balance 740 is back in the spotlight with a vibrant new “South Beach” edition.

About the New Balance 740 “South Beach”

While it’ll take a few more multicolor makeovers to truly rival the typical tech runner aesthetic, this “South Beach”, also going by the moniker “Cyber Jade”, pair is a clear sign that New Balance is ready to push the 740 into unexpected color territory.

The aquamarine base pops with bright pink accents on the quarter, outsole, and laces, creating a truly eye-catching combination. Black and silver overlays keep a subtle connection to the Y2K aesthetic we’ve seen on other New Balance runners, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a more expressive colorway in their catalog.

Release Details

The New Balance 740 “South Beach” has already started hitting select retailers, but we’re still waiting for an official drop from New Balance channels. Keep an eye out for it on NB.com and similar sites in the coming weeks. When it lands, expect a US$100 price tag. You can also cop a pair via the SNKRDUNK App post-release.
