The Red/Green Smoker Deck Has Multiple Paths to Victory
Whether the plan is to go for heavy-hitting late-game attacks or spread damage across the opponent's Character cards, either approach is just as effective.

The release of ONE PIECE Card Game set Royal Blood [OP-10] saw one of its Leader cards emerge as the centerpiece of one of the metagame’s newest forces. The highly flexible Red/Green Smoker deck has been a staple of the meta in Japan ever since the set’s release; it’s also started to make an impact elsewhere, most notably when German player Arman Haji-Ghassemi took the deck to the title at the Athens Regionals in April 2025.
Strategy
In the early game, the cards to prioritize are Vergo from Royal Blood [OP-10] if going first or Monet from the same set if going second. Vergo enables the player to retrieve crucial Punk Hazard cards from the deck while Monet allows two DON!! cards to be attached to either the deck’s Leader card or a Character card before reducing the Power of an opponent’s Character card by 1000.
Later on, another Smoker card from Royal Blood [OP-10]—this one being a Character card—can be played to set up an advantageous board state by way of the active DON!! the card provides for as long as it’s in play. In the late game, the deck’s most important card will usually be Eustass Kid from Romance Dawn [OP-01] due to its Power of 8000 as well as its ability to redirect all opposing attacks to itself when rested. Alternatively, the Hody Jones card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] which not only boasts 8000 Power of its own can be a viable late-game option; the card also allows the player to rest two opposing Character or DON!! cards before the player adds a Life card to the hand.
The cards to prioritize when mulliganing are all Character cards—the aforementioned Vergo and Smoker cards as well as the Sanji card from Royal Blood [OP-10]. These cards put pressure on the opponent, especially in the early game.
This deck’s most difficult matchups come against the Red Shanks and Red Zoro decks. The Red Shanks deck has a Leader effect which reduces Power, allowing it to pick up easy KO’s on low-Power Character cards. The Red Zoro deck, meanwhile, rapidly loads up the board with Character cards to target the opposing Leader card. Against the Red Shanks deck, Red/Green Smoker deck players are advised to target attacks at the opposing Leader card from Emperors in the New World [OP-09] while against the Red Zoro deck, the key is to prevent the Tony Tony Chopper card from Two Legends [OP-08] to get too many opposing Character cards into play.
Price
The cumulative price of all the cards in the Red/Green Smoker deck is a minimum of 14,150 JPY (~US$98).
