Despite being the best deck in the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame right now by a considerable margin, the Green/Purple Luffy deck can face a specific problem if left unaccounted for: that of potentially bricking. As such, some players have chosen to include the Gum-Gum Jet Gatling card from Pillars of Strength [OP-03] to prevent that possibility from happening.

About Gum-Gum Jet Gatling (Pillars of Strength [OP-03] OP03-072)

Gum-Gum Jet Gatling is usually used to clear a bricked hand during defensive turns by allowing the player to trash a card from the hand. Since the Green/Purple Luffy deck mainly makes use of Counterless cards, Gum-Gum Jet Gatling ensures that the player will have active Counter power accessible when needed. It’s also a very easy to bring into play because of its cost of 0.

Prior to the debut and rapid rise of the Green/Purple Luffy deck, several other decks included this card. Among those decks were the Purple Luffy, Blue/Purple Reiju, and Red/Purple Luffy decks.

At a rarity of Rare (R), this card isn’t necessarily one which collectors would pursue; its primary appeal rests with players. That being said, those who closely follow the One Piece manga might nevertheless be interested in this card as its illustration depicts Luffy in his Gear 2 form in combat against Rob Lucci; the scene in the illustration is taken from the manga’s Enies Lobby arc.
