In the current ONE PIECE Card Game metagame, the deck which has the most advantageous matchup against the otherwise overwhelmingly dominant Green/Purple Luffy deck is the Green Bonney deck. For counterplay against that deck, some Green/Purple Luffy deck players have chosen to include the Gamma Knife card from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05].

About Gamma Knife (Awakening of the New Era [OP-05] OP05-077)

When Gamma Knife is played, the player has the opportunity to reduce an opposing Character card’s Power by 5000. This card is mainly used to target the Eustass Kid card from Romance Dawn [OP-01] which functions as one of the primary threats in the Green Bonney deck. Eustass Kid is ordinarily a card which can cause matchup difficulties for the Green/Purple Luffy deck; however, the use of Gamma Knife will make it much easier for the player to pick it off.

Since this card’s rarity is only Common (C), this card is much more desired by players than it is by collectors. This is despite the fact that the illustration depicts fan-favorite character Trafalgar Law unleashing the card’s titular attack.
