From 30 May to 30 June 2025, a New Expansion Battle Event will be held at participating stores in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. As is implied by its name, the event is to take place in conjunction with the launch of Destined Rivals [DRI], the newest English Pokémon TCG expansion set, on 30 May.

To participate, a would-be entrant must first purchase a Destined Rivals [DRI] booster pack from the store in question. Each participant’s deck must contain at least four cards from Destined Rivals [DRI].

Every participant will receive a 3-card Present Pack which includes three Pokémon TCG Gym promotional cards; these are the English equivalents of the Japanese Pokémon Card Gym promos. The identities of the cards in the card pool from which the Present Pack cards can be taken haven’t yet been revealed.

In addition, tournament winners will be awarded two Destined Rivals [DRI] booster packs while runners-up will score themselves one such pack unless the tournament has 15 participants or fewer. In such instances, only the tournament winner will receive a prize; it will be one Destined Rivals [DRI] booster pack.
